Transaction volume is a main driver of the amount of work is required each month. This includes transaction volume and number of bank, credit card, or loan accounts.
The complexity of your business
The more complex a business, the more work is required. Factors that we consider are your entity type, how many employees you have, whether you have multiple businesses, number of business owners. We will scope these out in your free call.
The complexity of your financial statements
This also affects the difficulty of the work. How detailed do you need to track revenue and expenses? Do you need to track costs by product? How many journal entries are needed? Do you need to track fixed assets? Again, we will scope these out in your free call and provide you a “custom-to-you” quote.

This is really common. More than half our clients come to us as a result of realizing their books are not clean. We will review them and get them cleaned up so we can move forward. We can pretty much guarantee that there’s nothing we have not seen and we are a judgment-free zone.

YES! I have an accounting degree from Virginia Tech (GO HOKIES!). I have worked in a mix of public account, corporate accounting and finance, and consulting for over 30 years. Simplifying finance for non-finance folks is my zone of genius.

While I passed the CPA exam many moons ago and was licensed for a period in Maryland, I no longer maintain an active license. This just means I can’t provide attestation services (e.g., audits) or represent you in the US Tax Court.

We believe in clarity and transparency in our pricing. All of our monthly bookkeeping services are fixed priced. You will pay the same amount each month unless something changes in your business.
This way, you know exactly how much your expenses will be each month.

Essentials is for clients who need help setting up a basic financial foundation. They either have no employees or they are their only employee. This tier covers basic bookkeeping.
Advanced adds in some higher level accounting services such as recording payroll, more frequent reporting and access to both financial and strategic advice. These clients typically have a small team and are focused on growth.
Ultimate is for businesses that need a high-level financial and strategic partner. They may need accrual accounting and need more customized reporting. Think of this level as the beginning of CFO services.

Your monthly bookkeeping fee is inclusive of everything except any software charges. QuickBooks Online and Gusto (if you have payroll) are subscription-based. We will help you get set up on each and set up your subscription.
All new clients that have an existing QuickBooks Online account start with a “state of your books” assessment. We will assess if substantial clean-up is needed and if so, you’ll be provided a separate quote for that.

No, we do not prepare taxes, as that is a highly specialized expertise. We do however, calculate quarterly tax estimates, provide general tax guidance and work closely with your tax team.
